Hot oil treatment is still used by folks in VT but it is for older cars that you are using as daily drivers and trying to preserve. It is not for a car you plan to keep nice it is for one plan to wear out.
If you have a clean van putting it into a salt world will quickly result in a world of pain.
We used to purchase trucks or cars with high miles but good bodies from down south. And in one salt season the good bodies were trashed as every little crack in the pain or any areas with slight rust underneath blew up with rust.
Having a van that is rust free or didn’t see salt is a treasure and I hope you change your mind about setting off a time bomb on such a nice van.
When you get there borrow a beater car and do a few donuts and get the play you want and save your van.
