*NO... you're NOT stupid.... none of us are...*
we all are *REAL LIFE USERS*...we look, we use, we drive and we improve
what were done by the VW engineers...
Engineers design, fabricate, and test their product and NOT using their
product in REAL LIFE... oh yeah they use them long enough for testing and
that's it... then they move on to another project... if something happened
they do a recall and fix... and sometime they silently they fix something
and put it out as new model with a suffix as LS / LX etc etc...
engineers do have a dream to make a PERFECT product (cars, tools etc
etc...) but then the BOARD OF DIRECTORS step in... yelling COST... COST
they say:
- make it look good enough at LOW COST to sell.
- make it durable enough but not too much because we want them to buy
another one after 4 years max.
VW should keep the T3 vanagon in production.. just making improvements due
to environmental and safety concerns, put in a modern engine like the one
in the Porsche Boxster and we are in heaven... I would write a $100K check
or mortgage my house for that kind of vanagon.
:-) :-)
