I have used the BFG ATs before. They are good on dirt and gravel. The Vredesteins are better on snow and ice.

I tend to get Winter tires, as I’m in the mountains of WV, and good traction is vital, not just good to have. My driveway is 1.25 miles long, narrow, gravel, and icy in the winter. I was talking about tires that are load rated 100 or more, while your example is only load rated 97. My current Vredesteins are load rated 112, so I have no worries about carry a full load in the Vanagon.

Just something for folk to consider when looking for tires the next time. I still can’t get my preferred brand/tire in the USA (Vredestein Winter Comtrac 2), unless I go via eBay from Italy and pay through the nose, but Nokian has a similar winter tire that is available. Not the 225/70R15 size, but the 215/75R15, which is acceptable. My current Vredesteins are still good for this winter, and probably through next summer…but for next winter I’ll have to be prepared. ==
