Hi, Friend Simon with 90 Syncro has had recurring issue with sliding door power lock. Not always work8ng. We had a quick look at it last week, then last Sunday had a good look at it.
Electrical supply checked out. Could get the lock to work consistently by detaching the spring plunger assembly and holding it to the pads on sliding door. The mechanics in the lock are free and well lubed. But no joy when all assembled. Sometimes worked, sometimes not. Noticed that the wear marks on the pins and the pad was not centered. Then noticed the sliding door was not perfectly aligned when closed. Front edge of door low by maybe a cm . I adjusted the door hang, and there ya go, lock works perfectly. The misaligned door allowed the spring loaded plungers to partially touch the plastic that separates each contact pad on the sliding door. Making for an inconsistent contact. The amount of misalignment was small, but noticeable. Hope this might help any others with similar . Alistair |
