I use a 1" memory foam topper on my upper bunk, and roll it up to the back, and it allows the top to fold without any problem.


I think you would be safe doing the same with this 1.5" topper.

How are memory foam mattress toppers?  I’m planning a 3-week vacation in Colorado and will sleep upstairs. I currently use self-inflating camping pads, but wonder what has your experience been with memory foam?  Sweaty?  Squishy?  Sublime?
