Hi Eric - I don't think it will typically get super hot - maybe 110 to 120 F at the highest point of the scale depending on how fast you are driving and how much heat is coming off the road. How thick is the plastic for the tub? Anything too thin will eventually get brittle, crack and break.

I would love to free up some space under the rear bench - which currently is packed with tools and parts.
