Do you mean on the list vs. reading them in the archives?

And do you mean people don't receive Dennis's posts through the list?
That also would be a separate problem.

To be clear: I don't see anything Dennis needs to change.  The base64
encoding is a normal configuration, I believe, so that UTF-8 characters
beyond the ASCII set can be included.  For example, here's an a with an
umlaut: ä

(I don't know whether my email is configured correctly to encode that
character.  It'll be interesting to see THIS email as delivered by the
list and in the archives.)

I confess I haven't taken the time to meet and thank the generous
