I installed the Shurflo faucet years ago and it's great! Alistair, I'm not understanding what you're saying... My Shurflo tilts up and down, so I just tilt it down to close the cover.

It has been a while, but I'm reasonably certain there is a check valve in the circuit already, I think to prevent water from inside your van going back into the city water line when you hook that up, but don't quote me on that. I did have an issue where the pump was not being very efficient and had trouble turning on when I turned the old Delta faucet on. I could turn the impeller with pliers and get it moving. After working that loose and running it a while, I haven't had any further problem and the water comes out quickly.
