Whatever works for folks...I tend to keep the water in the line during warmer / camping months and then run the pump after filling the tank with freshwater for about 30 seconds or so - until I can feel the cool fresh water water running through the faucet as well as remove any air. I don't keep water in the storage tank unless camping and as a result I refill the tank fairly frequently. This seems to work for me in having water instantly come through the faucet when the pump is switched on as the pump stays primed. Everything gets drained in the winter.
