Hi Dennis and others,

I’m optimistic we are getting close to a success here.

Dennis,

YOu wrote, It is common for the starter safety and reverse light switch block and wiper to need attention.

Can you give me some direction on how to access this and what I might need to do to clean or repair the function?

I suspect this is the issue.

We checked the brake fluid level and it is at max. When pressing the white pin the brake light is activated indicating the sensor is working correctly.

The switch on my emergency brake is sticking. If I physically press it up the last little bit the brake light will light up in park when brake is up.

So I think fixing the little brake lever switch is a smaller issue.

The brake light still lights up for no reason if selector is in reverse drive or 1 and 2.

We just realized today that it doesn’t light up in neutral as well as not lighting up in park.

As this is the only time the van can start, park and neutral I’m wondering if this is a good hint to the problem.

I’m guessing I need to remove the square box around the shifter lever and locate the “swipe and other parts to clean or check for wire positions.

Tips on what to do and descriptions on finding the parts appreciated. Verbal pictures most helpful but if you have a real picture I can have it described.

Eric Caron Learning a lot and getting close to a list success.
