I've been using a HappyBuy 3kw diesel heater from Amazon for the past two winters.

I thought I was ordering the smaller-bodied version, but this is the bigger one. I've read that it's most likely just a de-tuned 5kw heater.

I run Kleen Heat kerosene alternative from Home Depot in it. The Kerosene is expensive, but not as smelly as diesel.

I know there have been quality concerns, but I must've gotten lucky; mine works perfectly. As far as maintenance, I preemptively replaced the fuel filter last fall and have an extra glow plug on hand if the current one ever burns out.

The heater has kept my van at 60 degrees inside when it was single digits outside on multiple occasions. (I also use thermal window coverings from Van Cafe for extreme cold, and I have a high-top instead of a Westy top.)

I used my van as my office last year during late February and March and ran the heater every work day and it performed flawlessly.

I have it mounted under the bench on the passenger side, with the fuel pump underneath the van on the cross member above the prop shaft. The fuel tank is a 4 liter rectangular one from Ebay. It's mounted in the opening behind the driver's tail light.

I can't say anything bad about this heater. It fires up every time I push the button.
