Hi all,
I learned about the Samba from folks on the Vanagon List. I purchased my van from a add there placed by Ken Wilford. Ken was selling it for one of his customers.
I’ve also bought and sold a couple of things.
Unfortunately the older site and the set up is very challenging to use with a screen reader. I am glad it is there as a resource.
I do love the simplicity though of email lists. I’m actually part of other lists in addition to vanagon topics and many of those are doing well.
Gerry is old and quirky but very very dear and still providing a great service.
My other email groups use three different services and all work a lot like Gerry and some serve over a thousand people.
These include groups io google groups, and screen review.
Some of these have big yearly subscription prices.
Gerry has been kindly serving us for no charge for years.
It would be great to see more folks join the Vanagon List. Perhaps those on Facebook would consider posting a invitation with the subscription directions?
I can provide them if needed.
It is great to have a variety of sources of information and community.

Furthermore, pictures are allowed and encouraged....this is a huge advantage. Sometimes worth a thousand words as the saying goes. And I've even bought and sold stuff via TheSamba. Excellent resource IMHO.
