I have the new improved version. I will re-investigate the cluster again when I tackle this though.
Thanks,
Bryan

Do you still have the blue ribbon in the gauge cluster or do you have the new improved version?
I don't know about the new improved version but with the blue ribbon please check the flat 14 pin connectors to see if it's damaged or not or doesn't have a good connection. The pins #12 and #13 are for oil pressure and the #6 is for the coolant. If the thin copper strips were damaged you can repair them with copper foil tape repair (do not use soldering iron).

Yes, I’m still here, I just really need expert advice at the moment. I’ve been the only mechanic on my 83.5 for 12 years and it’s really starting to show….
I’ve got several problems so lets start with the most annoying. The temp sender and the oil light are flashing as I drive. The temp sender has this intermittent thing where the gauge goes all the way to the right and the light starts flashing. Sometimes the gauge moves all the way to the right and the light does not flash. Sometimes both of them cooperate and show the scary real temperature. I have re-done the grounds in the back, in fact I have done them about 5 times this year. I have replaced both temp sensors and coolant level sensor. The whole gauge cluster in the dash has been replaced with a new LED one, the temp gauge did the same thing before and after the cluster replacment. The oil light, however, flickered allot at startup after the gauge replacment went in but it always eventually went out. The wires to the light at the top of the coolant sensor on the bottle are twisted together since I cannot find a replacement plug at the moment so the level sensor on the coolant bottle is not the issue.
Also, the oil light is now flickering like crazy, it goes in and out, sometimes being on for bit then sometimes being off. Twice in the past a mechanic has fixed this but that was years ago, neither time was there an oil pressure issue with the van but I understand that does not discount that at the moment.
I want to tackle these items on Saturday. If anyone has suggestions, electrical diagrams, etc. that would help it would be most appreciated. I hope to get these items out of the way so I can get back to my regularly scheduled issues.
Thanks,
Bryan
