I got under the van while my wife worked the clutch. The noise is definitely coming from slave cylinder area where the shaft is. It sounds external though. Of course, noises travel through metals are tough to pinpoint.

I just hope it’s not the shaft as I’d hate to have to pull the gearbox on my Syncro... again. I have to get this sorted before our summer trip to Colorado for three weeks.
