RE: Drivers Side Grab Handle I just did exactly that!! Rather I had it done. First thing is getting one. Be very sure you get ALL the parts!! The base that goes under the handle, two of them, can be hard to find. Second, and this is VERY important, you have to be very careful when drilling the holes to mount it. There are a bunch of wires in that A column that you don't want to catch with your drill. And even worse, the screws that hold everything in place are longer than they need to be and they can catch the wires also. That is what happened when mine was mounted but fortunately I had a top notch Vanagon mechanic doing the work and he was able to snake in a new wire. The several times I have been in and out of my Westy since the handle really helps my old body, getting in was starting to be a problem. Problem solved.
