I was quiet and calm on the Vanagon front, for the last 15 years, but finally:

Oh my...what did I do? http://www.v6bus.de/ZE.jpg

There was a alot of stuff scattered around the IP in my Van, so when the heater blower went bust, I had to take out the dash anyway.

I re-packaged most of the existing stuff, trying to keep it clean. Well, sort of. You don´t want to peek BEHIND that fuse panel...!

What does it do? -It´s a Golf3/Passat/Eurovan fuse/relay panel. Including relays (some re-purposed) for standard Vanagon content, plus headlight washer, power windows, Vanagon A/C. -R5 is a CAN-bus distribution insert. Collecting Engine, Trans, and IP-Cluster CAN (Audi V6 TDI Tiptronic). -R301 is an Audi bulb outtage detection, giving a warning in IP cluster for non-functioning low-beam, brake light, taillight. -R619 is the control module for multifunction steering wheel (CAN based: radio/satnav control, hands-free phone, speech control, steering wheel shifter paddles). -right of R301 and R619 is the late Eurovan signal distribution cluster. It is wired to the main panel, offering various tap-ins for B+, ignition, speed, OBD (K-line), door ajar, brake, switch/cluster illumination, and lots more. -Above R301 is the "comfort blinker" relay. Gives you 3 turn signal cycles by just momentary using the turn signal lever (Autobahn!!). -Above that is a ground collector. I use it to avoid accessing the ground star on the left A-pillar.

Not on picture, but still in/under dash: -Control module for automated headlamp leveling (manual leveling is required in Germany, automated for convenience or when equipped with HID headlights). Bolted under steel dash, between cluster opening and left defroster vent. -remote Eurovan locking receiver. Using VW flip-open keyfob, wired into Vanagon central locking, also controlling turn signals when (un)locking. Bolted under steel dash, between cluster opening and ash tray. -OBD connector, bolted under steel dash, accessible through ashtray opening. -Tiptronic gearbox ECU, behind glovebox. -Still to come: power window control module from Eurovan (Passat35i/Golf2), bolted under steel dash. One-shot open/close windows, close windows when locking, etc. -Still to come: cornering lamp module, bolted somewhere behind glovebox. Using fog lights as cornering lights, when low beam on and turn signal set.

More to show: -center console with Audi RNS-E satnav, bluetooth phone, RaspberryPi as Sirius/TV replacement, and more

I am thinking of opening a Samba thread with more pics.

Regards Raimund
