The usual cause of that 2.1 injection harness damage is a shorted wire to the power steering pressure switch. Often the wire end comes loose from the switch and touches metal. The switch wire ends came originally with protective covers but these covers get degraded and fall off. There are no stock fuses protecting the main injection harness but it is becoming common to add one.
