Hi Steve,

Sounds like you're ready for an adventure. I have a 2.2 Subaru in my 91 tintop and love it... Some questions to help better answer your question...who's doing the wrenching and what's your budget...? How soon do you want the conversion to be completed? And if you've not done so already, read through the Vanagon forum on the Samba...lots of good info there....
