Since the subject came up again here are some thoughts again: If going to invest in wheels go for 16 or 17 inch. Don't bother with 15 inch. Still restrictive in choices unless you really want larger diameters or off road. Over the years I have experimented with and test fitted sizes up to 20 inch. In my opinion the sweet spot for tire choices, reasonable diameters and adequate load capacities and ride compromise-handling benefits is 17 inch. In choosing wheels pay attention to load capacity and if available max inflation pressure. I have been using the AR95T 17X7.5, 25mm offset since 2009. As of now this wheel is no longer available. I'm looking at other alternatives. It seems the industry is moving to high offset wheels so spacers may be part of the plan. Difficult finding wheels to accommodate the bearing housing especially 2WD front. For Syncros consider this wheel choice. Amazon.com: Ultra Wheel 402S Alpine Silver Wheel (17x8"/5x112mm, +32 mm offset): Automotive<https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005GVU4XQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1> Reasonable price, direct fit, 1,850 pound load rating. 235/55-17XL tire a great choice. Falken Wildpeak or Toyo Celsius CUV. The Rotiiva is also available in 215/60-17LT. With the Van Café tire spare tire carrier you can probably get the 215 up there. To use this wheel on 2WD you will need 3 to 5 mm spacers up front due to the 8 inch width. Dennis |
