What is the capacity of my 85 Vanagon fuel tank? 

Years ago in my bay window I rolled into a gas station on fumes.  I knew my tank held 14 gallons.  The pump filled it with 15.2 gallons.  So was the station over charging or is the tank bigger?

Now with my vanagon I’m  interested in knowing.  For example at half a tank I sometime put in over 9 gallons. 

So what is our “true capacity?
