Subject: ODD fuel leak!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Solved my injector hose problem. BUT... When running the engine now leaks fuel at the junction pictured.( This is the exhaust piece that leads into the Cat.Converter.) It now sprays gas from a crack where the pipe meets the flange on the left side. Obviously two issues. Where is the gas coming from and why is there so much in the exhaust system? And, Where do I get a replacement pipe? 1.9 water boxer.

In testing I placed trays under the injector-fuel rail combo and the valve cover. I observed zero leakage both sites. Looking at it from underneath and having a friend start the engine, I observed puffs of spray coming out of the "crack" at the flange and dripping off the exhaust. Cold engine and ran for 5 seconds. Enough to see where it was coming from. Scary.

I have just reinstalled the injectors after having them cleaned and tested. I did this because one of them was stuck "on" which resulted in fuel in the sump. (2 litres worth). I'm thinking the injector is still a problem. I will pull them and do a spray test again tomorrow.

Any insight greatly appreciated. Thank you
