Pressed send too quick - I was going to say once you get the undercoating taken care of and the rust fixed - prime and paint and then treat with Fluid film - and when washing the van spray under the wheel wells to clean the grit, minerals and salts.

No longer driving it in winter will certainly help and prolong things.
