Thanks Alistair. I have taken that off before to change the light bulb, which appears to require replacement again! Also ruined a knob or two back in the day but thankfully didn’t damage the face plate.

So I’ll be able to see the cables behind this small face plate? I assumed I’d have to remove more so this is helpful!

Thanks Jeff

The levers are a push fit on, but often they are quite stuck. Don’t pull on the knobs, grab the shaft. And use a thin pry bar, dinner knife even, to lever the lever down, or up ( top lever , lever down, next lever up, next down, bottom one lever up) so that when the plastic part comes off it doesn’t catch the face plate and break it. You have to do a controlled pull. If you peer into the slots you can see what I mean about levering the levers. Sounds confusing but it isn’t . > I lube them before re install to make next time easier. > > The fan knob comes off next. > > Then carefully pry the face plate away from dash. Even prying around the perimeter. Again, warning, plastic can be brittle and the face plate is held to the dash by plugs. And they can be stuck.
