Hey Alistair. Yeah the panel etc "add on" costs are a tough bullet to bite but well worth it IMHO. e.g. I'm finding a solar panel quite useful in my ham radio "portable" work in my Westy. Of course running the fridge and ham radio..... I need more panels! LOL.

As I'm sure other folks have said, you'll eventually tune out any noise the fridge makes.
