Been there and done that. I can be as soft as anyone given circumstances. There was a time when a cross country trip meant camping, sleeping in the car (a Toyota Liftback for one), or just driving through the night. In fact, I have driven through the night and slept in the day simply because of the heat and no AC back in the day. Today, a cross country trip mostly means hotels except when we reach a camping destination, rather than along the way. mcneely
