I thought it was because we are all Vanagon Vampires.
Anyway it is more about the results these displays provide. The older
models I think - have a large analog clock where the tach is located in the
newer T-3s, however if you have a model that has the small rectangular
digital clock (which I do) then the digital clock remains with the same
stock backlighting - and the new plasma displays enhance the speedo, tach,
fuel and temp gauges.
