Hi steve,

I got the fridge thru a friend of a friend…he is a RV dealer. So I got dealer cost. I’d asked him a couple of years ago about this fridge and at that time he was having a hard time getting any. This time he said it was the only one in the canadian distribution system.

It’s a pricy unit. The truckfridge units are much cheaper. But I don’t think they have the same control system as the Dometic ( Dometic has some sort of fancy stuff going on to reduce compressor power usage. I think there are aftermarket add on units to do same for units not having that built in).

There is also the Italian vitrifrigo which looks very good.

I’ve been doing some casual power tests this last week. Casual as in … I don’t have data logger and the ambient temps weren’t controlled… but I got some idea of the powere consumption per 24 hr perked at the various coolness settings.

Borrowed a flir camera and today I’ll try getting images of fridge and see just how good the insulation is.

I’ll post that on blog this weekend.

Alistair
