Subject: Fuse to Radio Memory keeps blowing
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

I'm pretty sure this is not the right forum to ask, but I thought I'd give it a try.  In my Vanagon, I have an old school factory Honda Civic AM/FM Cassette stereo; bought on eBay for $15 about 15 years ago.  Love it!!!  On recent cross-country trip, it just quit working.  I've done a wonderful job of rewiring and fusing Constant 12VDC and Switched 12VDC and a dedicated ground to radio.  It now works, radio performs normally!  But if I raise volume a little bit, the fuse to Radio Station Memory blows.  Consistently.  Now....I only have 1 Amp fuses to both the radio Power and the radio Memory; perhaps these are a bit too low.  Can't figure out why raising volume blows Memory fuse.  Do any of you guys have a recommendation for fuse values for Constant 12VDC to radio Memory?  I just ordered a kit of fuses from Amazon....starting at 1 Amp, then 2, then 3, then 4, then 5, then 7.5...and then going into higher values.  My basic plan is to start low, test, and gradually creep my way upward.
