Two things I wish I'd learned earlier:

1. With a vacuum bleeder, it's hard to tell if the bubbles are coming from the system or leaking around the tube. Better to use a pressure bleeder (best), gravity, or a friend on the pedal.

2. Brake fluid is water soluble, so no need for solvents or degreasers to clean it up.
