Subject: Lighter fuse is blowing
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Hi all,

I have an 1988 Vanagon GL. I use the cigarette lighter socket for charging my phone, and have also used it to power an Engels fridge which it does well. Recently I had to replace the fuse, which was a 25 amp. A few days later it blew again and this time I heard it snap, exactly at the moment when I plugged in the USB adapter. I’m guessing the wires are shorting behind the lighter socket but I don’t know what’s the best place to start on this. I am _not_ good at electrical stuff!

Thanks in advance,

Steve Edwards, ’88 Titian Red Vanaru in Chicago.
