Thanks Dennis!

I was reluctant to use DOT 5.1, but based on this, I'll see if I can source that here.

Cheers, Steve W.

There is no damage using DOT 3, just a slightly lower performance level, moisture absorption and wet boiling point. DOT 5.1 (not DOT 5) is also compatible and the latest standard. Note there are also low viscosity formulas available so be aware of that. The Lv stuff os for later vehicles with magic braking systems and also offers improved cold weather response. > > Dennis > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> On Behalf Of Steve Williams > Sent: Saturday, November 20, 2021 10:18 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Brake fluid capacity of Clutch/Brake circuits > > Hi, > > Where I live (small town Western Canada), supply chain is a problem and no-one has DOT 4 brake fluid. Once I can get brake fluid, what is the capacity of the clutch circuit?
