Dan,

I agree... these vans are VERY susceptible to condensation and/or water in the tank. It has happened to me a few times, where I now keep at least 2 bottles of dry-gas with me at all times. Cheap fix, never hurts too!

Also, may be condensation in the tank this time of year. I had a similar incident recently and had to pull over and feather and floor it until worked it thru. Then added a can of sea foam and hasn’t returned.

Both (if the throttle switch is working at full throttle) will reset (bypass) the O2 sensor. If either make the problem go away for a short period than the O2 sensor and circuitry is the place to begin. > > Dennis > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> On Behalf Of Stephen Grisanti > Sent: Monday, February 21, 2022 12:28 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Loss of power while underway, second occurrence > > Which is worse, having car trouble on the way to the dentist or getting through the problem and making the appointment on time to have a filling replaced? First time was on neighborhood surface streets when I noticed the van slowing down from about 25 MPH. Felt like fuel starvation. Kept feathering the throttle since I did not want to have it die and not be able to restart. Revs varied wildly and the tach needle swung from 0 to about 3,000 RPM. No power when it did rev.
