Yea dean, made me wonder too when I’m swapping springs or adding pad etc. seemed like the stock perch was way off in angle. But of course it isn’t , the arm rotates up and it’s more inline with spring
And I do think the stock aluminum wedge shaped spacer was for the longer arm ( and maybe stiffer springs) in the diesel 16” Syncro .
I did think about swivel type spring perch. I even modelled up a prelim design. But it was giving more lift than I wanted. I think burley used to sell swivel perches, but haven’t seen them on his site recently.
Anyway, it’s all fun and games and finding out about things :-)
