Subject: Engine Conversion
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

After a seemingly interminable wait, my van with its new rice rocket engine conversion is nearly complete. It now has a completely overhauled ej 2.5 in it. All new bearings, new rings, rebuilt heads. It has been driveable for a short time - and goes like a scalded rabbit - but needed some few additional things to make it complete. AC needed hooking up, power steering belt needed installing, an oil pressure gage needed to be installed. One thing added was telemetry for the OBD 2. I can now read the OBD 2 on my cell phone while I am driving.

Boy what a difference this conversion makes. By the way, I went the Small Car route except for the trans adapter kit. For that I went to an Outfront Motorsports adapter for an automatic transmission. For the electrical harness conversion I went to Mick at Busaru.com. The man is a wizard. My engine came from a 2005 Outback - which is a year I recommend you stay away from because it's a half= 'n-harf. Part 2004 part 2006 basically. to avoid a lot of headaches go 2004 back or 2006 forward. but not 2005. After jumping thru a lot of hoops Mick made that 2005 harness work.

I recommend this ej2.5 conversion.
