The leak might not only get worse and start dripping, but brake fluid might as well get into the vacuum brake booster. You definitely want to avoid that.

Probably, a non-OEM cylinder won´t give you another 30 years. But if it´s half that time, why bother?! Bleeding manually with a second person (pumping, holding, bleeding...) shouldn´t be too difficult. And the new cylinder usually won´t get damaged.

Bleeding old cylinders, where the rubber membran gets shoved further than its 30 year old worn-out grooves, might be much more dangerous.
