A concern I have about using products for homes is that these are not
designed to be used inside due to off gassing of chemicals. I think
it would be best to stick to automotive products which (ostensibly)
don't have these downsides. I have successfully used a number of
different products over the years. Mass matters if you want to stop
noise. Bulk and space matters if you want temperature insulation. I
usually use both. An adhesive mass loaded vinyl product followed by
Havelock Wool insulation (non-toxic, resistant to mold etc) The Wool
should only be used in dry cavities - not in the font doors for
example.
