I have thought about this, having my home address on my Registration paper in glovebox, and also my garage door-opener clicky in map pocket. (My Vanagon is always garaged.) So instant presto, they would have access to my garage and all it's contents. (Garage is separate from house.) For security and convenience, I rigged up a tiny momentary switch on steering column underside plastic piece, the clicky garage door opener resides inside there too wired into the momentary switch. Now when approaching garage, I touch the nearly invisible momentary switch (adjacent to ignition switch); slight inconvenience in that to replace clicky battery every 8 years or so, I need to remove the plastic trim piece. But yeah...I should also make the Registration paper a little harder for the "pressed for time" thief to find.
