I just returned from a 700+ mile trip in my 1983 1.6 turbo diesel westy. The van behaved perfectly except for the fact that somewhere about halfway through the trip, the brake warning light near the headlight switch started coming on randomly. A tap of the toe on the brake pedal would turn it off, but it would be on again in a few minutes, then off again by itself. I stopped at one point and checked the fluid level and it was fine. The emergency brake was not on. I finally learned to ignore it as there was no drag nor effect on the brake system with the light on or off. ?? Jim |
