Subject: Gas tank reseal, how often?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Hi folks,

How often do we need to reseal the gas tank?

I’m going to do the evaporation tanks soon and also replace a hose that is leaking between the tank and pump.

If I’m doing that I almost wonder if it is time to just drop the tank and do the reseal? I think it was last done in 2010.

So 12 years ago. This is for the 84 Westfalia

I need to read the relevant history again but I believe this is also a replacement gas tank put in in 2010.

Would this require the full kit with cross bar or hose or just the grommets?

Any recommendation on which kit to use? Which tends to last or in my case which might be the easier to install?

Can I say I’m not excited to figure out how to safely empty the tank and store the gas! Of course it was filled relatively recently!
