Patience and successes,

for you guys a 20 minute job. For me several hours.

I successfully removed the passenger vapor tank and cleaned and inspected. Cleaned the wheel well. Installed new grommet put it all back together and found it tricky to get back but eventually did.

All done and no harm as far as I can tell. And I no longer smell gas at the passenger side.

Scary moment when I noticed that a screw had been put through the metal to the right of the battery. It was there I think to hold up the carpet. But, it could have easily punctured the vapor tank. I replaced it with a very short screw and covered the end with putty. The tank is safe.

Such a small job for you folks but a much bigger one for me I enjoyed every moment and especially the clean wheel well with a healthy vapor tank locked in it’s older and gently bolted on the post.

Not sure what the trick is to getting the tank back in but it took patience and fidgeting.

Now, fingers crossed the drivers side goes as well.
