Hi Eric! Even my own messages go into my junk. I do not appreciate the editorializing from the list serve!!

Funny story with my 85. I had sort of forgotten over the winter that it was giving me grief last fall. Didn’t like to run when wet. Hard starting. When I went to start it up this spring, same thing. But I was sure I wasn’t hearing the fuel pump running. We towed it out of the storage garage, and let it sit for a few days for the tow truck. I should point out that the garage is a steel quonset hut (think that’s what it’s called), unheated, on a gravel pad. Sits on high ground. Last winter was extremely long with more snow than in many years. The hut was extremely humid, to the point that some of my 15 year old clear coat bubbled. I think the moisture just got in the distributor or somewhere. After a few days we tried again, and it started right up. We are hopefully going on a lengthy summer holiday so I changed plans and got the shop to do the tuneup rather than do it myself. Just in case. The paint is old and mogie and doesn’t owe me anything, but I was surprised that it bubbled over the winter (it’s not rust bubbles).

So all in all, I think it was just moisture in the cap/wires etc. But it’s in for service now. Will report back when complete! Jeff
