I have one. Would I recommend it? I would have to stay neutral as there are good things and things not so great. The guys at Small Car are pretty nice.

To answer your question, in my van, it does not cool the back as one would hope. But at the same time, it is relative. If you are driving down in Moab in the summer, the back won’t feel a thing. If you are driving on a day in the upper 70’s they may start to feel it a bit. There are just to vents in the dash in the middle. The front seat will feel it ok.

Problems I encountered, 4 or 5 days into a trip across 8 states, it started to lose its cool. I brought it into Rocky Mountain Westy (because I was right there) and they recharged it. They said it was not nearly charged enough.

Also driving in the open sun on the black top for a long time with the AC blasting does put a lot of strain on the motor.

Is it better than not having A/C? Yes. Are there better options out there? I hope so. For the price they charge? Doubtful.
