So, in the past I helped a bit and paid attention while others including Dennis Haynes removed axles from my automatic. And I help a friend do the same on my bus to fix the ever failing cv boots.

Today I solo removed and replaced the driver side axle. I was a bit uncertain so procrastinating . But, all done except I need to torque the bolts. I need a sighted person to set the wrench.

I plan to do the other side soon so that all boots are rip free.

For me as a blind vanagon care taker it was a challenge and a joy to succeed.

I so appreciate the help of this list, many local friends, and additional tips from Dennis.

Now, to get the 84 to the West River Westies event for Dennis to do the Running issues tech session.

And, now I will not worry about dirt and sand getting into the joints going back and forth to Townsend VT.

And, one final thing, I so appreciate the fact that the last person did not over tighten the CV bolts, they used 12 point, and they were clean for easy access for the tool. Also used the 12 point socket from T3Technique and that seemed to help.
