Eric there can be another cause. But I agree about check shock mounts first.

The other cause is the bottom of the spring shifting on the trailing arm. The stock thin plastic shim/spacer is likely to be perished. This shim helps muffle or eliminate the spring pigtail shifting during un weighting of the spring as in the inside wheel when going round corner and bumps.
