My reason for the 10w60 synthetic oil is ….

My engine is old. I don’t know the history before I got van in 2010. I have about 460,000 km on van now. I resealed heads back on 2014.

So you’d guess the bearing tolerances throughout are on the sloppy side.

Everything is good during driving except some particular logging roads we go on in summer. Quite steep and slow, and ambient temps sometimes in the 30C range.

At those times oil temps do climb as expected … and pressure drops.

I thought , think, hope, the new oil being higher weight and synthetic will give American a few more pounds pressure .

Right now with the oil, highway driving, I do see an increase from before. But I haven’t done the real torture test.
