Might have been Jeep or Range Rover mirrors. Those have been used by some folks and and look about the same.

Also, at a recent VW car show I saw a Doka with similar mirrors but more plastic and a bit larger. I prefer mine but I was surprised to see there was another direct fit option with a similar shape on the door. I wondered what those were? Replacements or original?
