I think you’re still ahead. I just browsed around some. GW now has a fancy looking offering with steel braided hose, and they say it is still somewhat noisier than the original. Back when I did mine, what they had did not look that good, did not fit the same and they said it was noticeably noisier. Both GW and Van Café also have the VW hose ($300+), curiously GW picture shows the dampener and VC does not.

What I did was a big win for me, and it looks like this is still not a resolved question and you’re doing the right thing.

Well they didn’t install the dampener, I thought that reasonable until I read your post.

Oh well. I’m futzing around now with the hardlines near the sliding door area. I think I can dampen the vibes.

The shop was coast industrial here in Victoria, on Duppelin. Actually it’s been bought by greenline and called that now. But same staff as before.
