Thanks David and Mark,

I called my contact at Bus Lab and changed to spring clamps. That is what they had recommended. I have the special pliers so no problem. I’m actually starting to like the spring clamps. I’m just worried they don’t keep up the pressure and I can’t tighten if a small leak is present.

Dave,

Glad you helped out the new bay window owner. I remember that person.

Great that you both helped out each other in the end. Great bus karma at work.

Worm clamps can't do that, so they squeeze the hoses too tight when hot and not enough when cold (after time). > > By the way, I sold my tires and alloy rims to a young guy who did West River Westies this year for the first time. He has a Bay window bus and he and his family relocated here from California a couple of years ago. Original engine blew up on the way here, so he replaced it with the pancake motor. Nice. Also he has kids in middle school. He offered me $400.00. I thought about you, Karma, and the rigors of bringing up young kids and gave them to him for $260.00 (I said 250, he insisted on the 260). > > Glad you figured out what was up with your coolant hoses and H pipe. > > Dave > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Eric Caron <ericcaron96@COMCAST.NET> > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Sent: Fri, Nov 4, 2022 9:54 am > Subject: Re: [VANAGON] Coolant leak found but parts question > > Hey, > > Anyone out there? > > I have moved forward and ordered the H pipe and corresponding new hoses. I had two from Ken at Vanagain. My current H pipe I believe now was manufactured on the road likely south of the border on a extensive trip.
