Hi all,

Another question,

Does anyone have experience with the Nissens radiator. A friends long time VW bus mechanic says he currently uses either Nissens or good used originals as others fail after about 3 years.

Bus Depot sells the Nissens for about 220. But it is also available from the place with the life time warrantee for 201, free shipping, and a life time warentee.

So, Nissens or Mahlar/Behr? Same price same warrantee Or Spectrum and no warrantee for a even better price of 145 and free Amazon shipping.

Leaning toward Nissens, but what kind of tubes round or oval in the Nissens? Leaning toward this one because once I purchase it, if it leaks they pay for the future replacements.

Wanting to pull the trigger on the order but hoping for a good result.

The Behr/Hella radiator I installed three years ago (but bought maybe ten years ago) was marked ‘Service’ but was made in South Africa, not China. I have not been inside to know round or oval tubes – can this be determined from outside? > See photos: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ag0DyVeyF6ELf1INdL7ydq1i408?e=qjgCIG <https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ag0DyVeyF6ELf1INdL7ydq1i408?e=qjgCIG> > > From: Dan N <mailto:dn92610@gmail.com> > Sent: Wednesday, February 22, 2023 5:23 PM > To: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com <mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> > Subject: Re: Radiator disappointment > > According to Dennis.. > *"Behr "Service" units were actually made in China and all the ones I have > seen had a different core design, round tubes instead of the oval tubes. > Similar to what was used in many early water cooled VWs. No overheating but annoying.
