I am not a computer expert but I know enough to find my way around the hardware and software that I have. Sorry to hear about your experience with dropbox... I don't see how dropbox can delete your files. Dropbox is a kind of cloud/virtual storage. The user copy/upload a file to dropbox and send a notification/email inviting his/her client or friend telling that the file is there so go get it. In the meantime the original file sits on the user's computer - so where did the original file go after the upload?. In fact there are 2 copies of the file - one in dropbox and one in the user's computer. Someone somehow must have access to the user's computer in order to delete the files - dropbox or not.
